4 Player Handicap Tournament Series

 4 Tournament Rounds,

4 minute game Time.

Overview

The 4Play tournament series is a new concept in modern paintball tournaments.  It allows the new player to compete in a tournament were  restrictive rates of fire allow greater movement  develop skill and introduces them to this great paintball sport without the fear of being outgunned by high rates of fire.  Also by only having one division and handicapped accordingly the new player competes on a fairer playing field for the excitement of winning.  Players now have the ability to develop skills and teamwork so if they choose to play in the Seven Super Series they have a foundation to build on.

They are going to be held in Brisbane , Townsville .  See below for the contacts.

Please read through this very exciting concept and get your teams together or put you name down to join a team.

4Play getting you into the game.

Gun Handicap:

Any legal paint gun, but only feed by a 12 bps or less approved hopper*.

*Only Gravity feed, agitating hoppers/loaders may be use.  No force-feed hoppers or feed systems are to be used.  Approved are Ricochet: - Rino, AK, 2K/LCD, View Loader: - Quantum, Revolution.   These hoppers may no be altered or modified in anyway which may change or enhance their performance.

Hopper violation not approved by organizers, will result in the team of the offender losing all seasons Seed Points as well as the total of accumulated preliminary points up to the time of offence.  In addition if penalty is applied during the Finials rounds that team will be relegated out of the finials.

Player Handicap:

Player HandicapAll teams will compete within one Division; teams will compete within a handicap system based on player’s individual playing experience.  This playing experience will determine the handicap level as shown below.

Level 1.  Less than one year paintball/tournament Experience.  Players that have played in all 3 rounds of the previous 4Play season will be deemed Level 2 regardless of the 1 year threshold.

Level 2.  More than one year less than 2 years Tournaments Experience

Level 3.  More than Two year less than 3 years Tournaments Experience

Level 4.  More than three year Tournaments Experience. Any players that have competed more than once
in a National Tournament series in either Pro or Semi Pro Divisions.  (Division 1 is exempt)  Including but not
limited to AXL, Super 7 Series, will be classed as level 4 regardless of the number of
years
Tournaments Experience.

A player’s experience is based on his/her time of involvement in the competition aspect of
paintball.  Player’s handicap status will be determined by their experience prior to the 4Play season.  For
example Player ”A” began playing tournament paintball at training days in April 2006.  And he joins a 4Play
team for the 2007 season, since he has been playing for less than 12 months Player “A” will be classed as a
Level 1 player for the entire 2006 4Play Season.  However Player “A” would be advanced to Level 2
for the beginning of the 2008 4Play season.

Player “B” began playing tournaments in May 2005, Player “B” will be classed as a Level 2 player for the entire 2007 4Play season.   However Player “B” would be advanced to Level 3 for the beginning of the 2008
4Play season.

Player “C” began playing at the 1st round of the 2006 4Play series in 2006 and went on to play all 4
rounds in the 2006 season.  Even though player “C” has played less than 12 months, player “C” would be
promoted to level 2

Handicap Points System

Level 1.  Full scoring points

Level 2.  2.5% deduction per Grade 2 player on field for that game.

Level 3.  7.5% deduction per Grade 3 player on field for that game.

Level 4.  12.5% deduction per Grade 4 player on field for that game

Misleading or false information given to the organizers as to the handicap status of a player.  Which has been found to be incorrect will result in the team of the offender losing all seasons Seed Points as well as the total of accumulated preliminary points up to the time of offence.  In addition if penalty is applied during the Finials rounds that team will be relegated out of the finials.

Seed Points:

4Play series Seed Points System, teams will earn seed points based on number of teams participating in each tournament round.  Seed point will accumulate for each event that the team competes in.  Teams must retain the same team name and at least 2 players from the previous round to retain 4Play Series seed points.   The number of teams participating at each tournament round determines 4play Series Seed Points.  The 1st place team at the end of the prelims will earn 1 point for each team at that tournament of the series.  Each subsequent place will earn one point less.

For example 12 Teams attend:

 Placing after

    preliminary Rounds         Seed Points

    1st Place   12 points

   2nd Place   11 points

   3rd Place   10 points

   4th Place     9 points

   5th Place     8 points

   6th Place      7 points

   7th Place      6 points

   8th Place      5 points

   9th Place      4 points

 10th Place       3 points

 11th Place         2 points

 12th Place       1 points

For example 8 Teams attend:

 Placing after

    preliminary Rounds         Seed Points

    1st Place     8 points

   2nd Place     7 points

   3rd Place     6 points

   4th Place     5 points

   5th Place     4 points

   6th Place      3 points

   7th Place      2 points

   8th Place      1 points

The top 4 teams play off in round robin finials against the 3 other Finalist teams, playing each team once.  Scores are totaled at the end of the 3 rounds of the finials to determine the finial places.  Handicap system is active for the finials.  Team’s finial places receive additional seed points as shown below.

        Final placing               Seed Points

    1st Place     5 points

   2nd Place     3 points

   3rd Place     2 points

   4th Place     1 points

For example

If team Dirt Bags finish the prelims in 3rd place and there are 18 teams, and they then go on to win the tournament in the finials.  The Dirt Bags would earn

16 seed points from their prelim 3rd place +

5 seed points from their 1st place in the finials

Earning them a total of

21 seed points from that tournament

Game Scoring:

Game Scoring  Points

Eliminated Player  10 Each

Flag Grab   20 Awarded only once      per team per game

Flag Hang   40

Lost Player   -1 Deducted for each     player lost from team**

**After handicap has been applied teams will   deduct 1 (one) point for each player from there team eliminated during that game.

End of game points are added up then Handicap system applied.

Level 1

Full scoring points

Level 2

2.5% deduction per Grade 2 player on field for that game

Level 3

7.5% deduction per Grade 3 player on field for that game

Level 4

12.5% deduction per Grade 3 player on field for that game

For example

Team Fudge Packers have taken to the field with 2 x level 3 players, 1 x level 2 player and 1 x level 1 player.  The Fudge Packers win the game with a grab and a hang eliminate all the other team and lose 2 players.  Fudge Packers earn

 20 points for the grab

40 points for the hang and

40 points for the 4 eliminations

Giving them 100 points for the game then the handicap is applied

 2 x level 3 players @ 7.5% = 15%

1 x level 2 player and @ 2.5% = 7.5%

1 x level 1 player @ Nil

Team Handicap = 22.5%

 Game points 100 less 22.5% (22.5 points) =77.5

Team score is always rounded up after handicap if a .5 occurs resulting in the Fudge packers earning a score of 78 points from the game.  At this point the lost player penalty is applied.

Fudge Packers lost 2 players which will affect their score as 78 points less 2 x lost players @ 1 point each (2 points) = game score of 76 points.

With the handicap system in place a team of 4 level 3 players would need to win twice to match a team of 4 x Level 1 players, and a team of 4 x level 2 players would need to win 1.5 games to match a team of 4 x Level 1 players winning 1 game.   This in effect gives the newer players a fighting chance to keep pace with the more experienced teams in the Prelims round to hopefully earning a place in the finials.
